Terms & Conditions

The team at Wonderland can offer you as much, or as little help as you need to plan the perfect event. We've definitely got everything you need to hire and we have a lot of what you want as well.

Terms and Conditions of Hire

    1. Any loss, damage or breakage of equipment (including packaging items), the hirer will be charged the full present day value.
    2. All equipment is to be returned cleaned, unless otherwise specified. Returned equipment that requires cleaning will incur additional charges. Stains and damage to white folding chair cushions will be charged a replacement cost. Charges will apply for excess cleaning and damages to linen (including candle wax) and marquee silks. Carpet that requires expert cleaning will incur an additional charge. Items returned after the date stated on the hire contract will incur additional charges.
    3. No glassware is to be used on dance floors. We recommend that guests are advised of this information via the Host / MC as part of Housekeeping, at the start of an event.
    4. Hire equipment is not insured, all responsibility lies with the hirer.
    5. The hirer accepts full responsibility for the correct manner and use of equipment. The hirer indemnifies and holds indemnified the owner from and against all claims, actions, suits, demands and expenses including all legal costs and expenses in any way arising from injury, loss of income, death or damage caused to the hirer or associated users in respect of the equipment hired.
    6. The equipment supplied for hire always remains the property of Wonderland Tents And Events.
    7. It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that all ordered equipment is in good order and is checked upon pickup/delivery. If any items are missing or incorrect, please notify us immediately so that replacements can be arranged. Failure to notify us will result in the client being charged for ordered equipment.
    8. Credit card details are required as part of the booking process. These details are kept on file during the hirer period as security.
    9. Prices do not include delivery or pick up. Installation and delivery costs are for normal conditions. Delivery and pick up will be charged to the first available point inside the Hirer's property or chosen venue. Should extra labour be required under any circumstances, then additional charges will apply. An extra charge will be levied for difficult sites and stairs, as well as delays outside the control of Wonderland Tents And Events. If weather conditions are abnormal and it is required to have additional securing for the marquee, charges may apply.
    10. Delivery and collection times are not scheduled until the week of your event when all bookings are finalised. We require flexibility around delivery and pack down timings, and will communicate with you the week prior what our intended timings will be.
    11. Labour outside of normal hours will incur an additional fee. These times include Monday to Friday before 8am and after 5:30pm, Saturday before 8am and after 4pm, all day Sunday & Public Holidays. This applies to any deliveries, installs, dismantles or pickups.
    12. Marquee prices are based on being pegged into flat level ground. Marquee, marquee silk draping, lighting (marquee only) and flooring prices include labour / setup costs. Marquees are not available for beach ceremonies (grassed areas at the beach are ok). Once a marquee has been erected, all responsibility for the marquee lies with the hire client. Any loss, damage, breakage or additional cleaning will be charged for. This includes water damage & staining from reticulation, and smoke damage. Flooring and dance floors cannot be moved or relocated, charges may apply.
    13. Installers of marquees must be informed of the location of all water, gas, reticulation pipes and telephone cables prior to installation. Whilst all care will be taken, no responsibility is taken for any damage caused to any water, gas, reticulation pipes, telephone cables or other equipment. Any repairs will be at the client’s expense. All care will be taken when erecting a marquee; however, no liability will be accepted for any damage to property or fixing that a marquee may be attached too.
    14. Cool Room Hire is not insured. All responsibility for the Cool Room Equipment lies with the hirer. Cool Rooms must be returned clean or a $50 cleaning fee will apply.
    15. Prices quoted are for 24hrs hire unless otherwise specified. We do allow extra days for wedding set up. Weekly and long term hire rates are available. Quotes are valid for a period of 14 days from issue date and will be confirmed on receiving a signed copy as agreement to our terms and conditions. Bookings require a non-refundable 25% deposit of the total invoice amount and are to be paid 7 days from receipt of invoice. A booking is not confirmed until the deposit is received. The deposit is not transferable to another date. A further 25% non refundable payment is required 90 days prior to delivery and the final invoice is to be paid 14 days prior to pickup or delivery of goods, unless otherwise stated or previously arranged. Items will not be delivered or installed if the final payment is not received by the due date. Outstanding balances will be charged at 2.5% per month on any overdue accounts.
    16. Prices are subject to change without notice. All hire items attract 10% GST and are included in the prices quoted. A surcharge of 2% will apply to all credit card payments. AMEX and Diners Cards are not accepted.
    17. Items cancelled 91 days or more from the hire date will lose their 25% non-refundable deposit. Items cancelled within 7-90 days prior to the hire date will be charged 50% of the hire charge. Items cancelled within 7 days and/or after delivery/pickup will be charged at the full rate. Please note that we do allow flexibility around final numbers of items hired as per guest RSVPs, subject to our discretion.
    18. Any charges incurred by Wonderland Tents and Events or their agent, in recovering equipment and/or monies will be charged to the hire client.
    19. Size estimates and floor plans provided by Wonderland Tents and Events are estimates only. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the sizing of the marquee is adequate for the event and furniture layout.
    20. Where timber flooring is supplied as part of the order the customer hereby acknowledges that timber is a natural product and is subject to dimension and shape variations due to climatic and other prevailing conditions. The flooring material is designed to be a structural floor, therefore gaps may exist and vary due to the nature of the timber
